Four Connected Programs for Cats

NCO Rescue runs four connected programs covering the full path a cat travels with us: trapping and sterilization, emergency and medical care, daily feeding for community cats, and foster-based adoption. Every program is run by volunteers and supported by licensed veterinary partners.

Core Program

TNR Program

Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is the gold standard for humanely managing feral cat populations.

Trained volunteers humanely trap feral and community cats, transport them to our partner veterinary clinics for spay or neuter surgery, vaccinate them against rabies and FVRCP, and return them to their outdoor homes. Ear-tipping — a small notch in the left ear — marks each cat as sterilized so they're never trapped unnecessarily again.

Veterinary Care

Cat Rescue & Emergency Care

Rapid response for injured, sick, and vulnerable cats.

Not every cat can be returned outdoors. When we find cats with serious injuries, illness, or kittens too young to survive on their own, we step in. We work with licensed veterinary partners in Orange County for urgent treatment, surgery and recovery. No cat is turned away for lack of funds.

Community Program

Community Cat Feeding

Daily care for the community cats of our neighborhoods.

We feed 15 community cats every day across Orange County. Daily feeding is more than food, it is how we monitor health, spot cats who need medical help, and keep track of who belongs to which neighborhood.

Adoption Program

Foster Care & Adoption

Matching rescued cats with loving forever families.

Cats and kittens who can be socialized go into our foster network while they wait for a forever home. Our foster families give them a safe place to decompress, build trust, and show who they really are. We screen every applicant so each cat goes to a home where they will thrive for life.
